Remembering one of our former member leads, David "Dr. Dave" Adams
May 11, 1963 - September 5, 2023
"Dr. Dave" sang with us for a number of years over 2 different stints in the group. His clear, accurate lead voice was part of our signature sound on several of our CDs and, of course, many performances throughout the years. Jovial, caring and always quick with his dry wit, Dr. Dave graced us each time we got together. He will always have a special place in our hearts at The Master's Men.

Dr. David Paul Adams, son of the late Fred and Irene Adams, passed away, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of compassion and dedication. He is survived by his loving siblings, brother Bob (Fanshu) Adams and sister Karen (Matt) Foxman.
David's journey through life was marked by a deep sense of adventure. As a child, he explored the world alongside his family, and in later years, he found joy in embarking on cruises with his loved ones.
An exemplary student, David excelled in high school, not only in academics but also on the football field. His educational path initially led him to a career in banking after attending UNC Chapel Hill. However, driven by an unwavering calling to make a difference in the lives of others, he changed course and pursued a career in medicine. He earned his medical degree from UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine and completed his residency at Duke University.
David's medical journey began as a family practice physician in underserved areas of North Carolina. He later established his own practice, where his expertise, compassionate care, and commitment to patients gained him a loyal following for over 20 years.
Beyond his medical calling, David was a true lover of the arts. He was an active participant in barbershop quartet and choral singing community and had an appreciation for all styles of a cappella music, including gospel singing for many years with with The Master's Men. He also shared his talent for singing and acting by performing in numerous local community theater productions. He cherished moments with his nieces, taking them to musicals and instilling in them a love for the performing arts.
David relished good food and international cuisine. He was not only an adept cook but also a connoisseur of fine dining. He often delighted in guiding friends through exotic restaurant menus, enhancing their culinary experiences.
Among his many interests, David had a profound love for board games. His enthusiasm extended beyond gameplay, as he enjoyed teaching the rules as much as competing. Through his love for games, he fostered cherished moments of togetherness with several of his lifelong friends.
David leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but his impact on the lives he touched, both professionally and personally, will be remembered with deep admiration and gratitude. His legacy of kindness, devotion, and the pursuit of passions will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
